Mahatma Gandhi

‘Man’s nature is not essentially evil. Brute nature has been known to yield to the influence of love. You must never despair of human nature.’
Mahatma Gandhi was the political and ideological leader of India during the Indian Independence movement. He pioneered resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience that was conducted with total nonviolence. Although Mahatma Gandhi was not the originator of the principle of non-violence, he was the first to apply it in the political field on a large scale. This concept helped India gain independence, end many inhumanities towards its citizens and inspire movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
