“Every step toward the goal of justice requires…the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” Martin Luther King Jr was an American clergyman, activist and prominent leader of the African American civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr showed ‘bottom up leadership.’ He did not work within a government department or was in charge of any individual or team. It was just a matter of passionately promoting a better way even in the face of real risks to his safety. A key component of this was his great oratorical gift for giving stirring eloquent speeches making him an iconic figure across the globe for promoting the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent methods.
